Dear Gross-Alaska Theatre patrons,
In the 123-year history of Gross-Alaska Theatres, we have never faced such uncertain times and we appreciate your continued support and understanding.
As the state of Alaska begins to responsibly reopen, Gross-Alaska Theatres is working on our arrangements to safely reopen to the public. As we shape our plans, we do so with the health and safety of our employees and guests as our top priority. We are implementing new cleaning and safety measures for our staff and patrons, so we can all feel comfortable returning to the cinemas.
To have a successful reopening, we also need a regular schedule of new movies for theatrical release. At this time, movies are scheduled to return to the big screen in mid-July. However, the theatrical industry is a national one and until the majority of the main markets in the United States are open, distributors are unlikely to release new movies. We believe once we’re able to play new release movies again, we'll open our theatres again and provide Juneau and Ketchikan with entertainment options again!
We thank you for your patience and look forward to seeing you all at the movies again soon.
